New Replacement Request Process

We are happy to replace broken or defective needles - we have designed a request form that will make the process much more efficient for all of us. If at all possible, please use the form, your request will be placed in the work queue, and your replacement will be sent via parcel post within a week. Please allow a minimum of two weeks for the whole process; weather and holidays may extend the timeline, but we will do our best to get you back to your knitting as fast as possible.

Our Newest Product - Shawl Pins!

Our newest product are shawl pins made from wood "recycled" within the shop.

Because of our high standards not every piece of wood that we receive can be a Brittany needle. This wood was intended for 10" or 14" needles and had some defect that made it unusable for that length but a good portion is still perfect. With a little work we are able to recover the usable wood and discard only the bare minimum. The result is a top quality product covered by the world famous Brittany 5-year no-questions-asked "even if my cute dog ate it" guarantee.

We made hairsticks for personal use from this "recycled" wood and a yarn shop owner noticed them and asked if we could make shawl pins, her customers would love them. We worked with her and a couple other shop owners to help us perfect the design. The shawl pins have the same finish as the cable needles so they will stay in place and the brand is small and centered so it won't show when the pin is worn. They are the diameter of a US size 8 (5.0 mm) needle and are a total of 6 inches in length.

Brittany Voted Best Needle in the UK

We are proud to share that we were voted best knitting needle in the UK by the readers of Let's Knit magazine. (http://www.letsknit.co.uk) We are honored and flattered by the award and wish we could have gone to London to accept it.

The following is an excerpt from a Craftbusiness article about the awards:

The winners, who will collect their awards at the Let's Knit! stand at Alexandra Palace's Knitting & Stitching Show, have been nominated and voted for by an army of increasingly dedicated knitters keen to identify their favourites. "We are so excited to be presenting our very first annual awards at the show and are really grateful to everyone who voted," says editor Sarah Neal. "We were extremely keen to demonstrate just how vibrant and various this industry is, and the list of winners certainly reflects that. Moreover, the enthusiastic response we've received certainly proves Let's Knit! readers to be a discerning bunch who know what they like and are keen to shout about it!"

Make Sure You Get the Real Brittany

One reason knitters value our products is that we are a small familybusiness working hard to make superior knitting tools here at home, using sustainably harvested wood. It has been brought to our attention that crochet hooks from India are beingsold that are blatant copies of ours. Be sure when you buy your needles and hooks that they not only resemble Brittany, but are also stamped with the Brittany name. Thank you for valuing the care we put into creating each needle and hook.
